CAREER

I have had a great career so far and am hoping for that to continue for years to come. After starting out as a programmer trainee, I have made the most of the opportunities that I was given. Throughout my career, I have always looked to automate manual tasks. This automation removes both duplication of work, as well as reduce the chance for human error. This culminated in 1997 when I created a product named Mail Attender. This was a product created in Lotus Notes. It is an email management software whose primary function is to enforce retention policies. In September of 2000, Sherpa Software was created, due to the sales and promise that Mail Attender had. As I like to say, I was in the right place at the right time. I saw a need and I filled the niche. And wow, was it popular. I will always remember being at the annual trade show in Orlando. We had a booth and were showcasing Mail Attender. The interest was incredible and extremely humbling. Here I was, showing a product I created at home, for which a company was formed, and the amount of people was 10 deep. I was almost yelling to allow everyone to hear. To steal a line from the movie, ‘Field of Dreams’, “If you build it, they will come.”. The most humbling thing of all, is that we still have customers using it today. Having a product that is 20+ years old and still being used is awesome.

Prior to Sherpa Software, I was a programmer, a database administrator, a certified instructor, a consultant, and always someone who loves to talk to people about their business issues and offer a solution on how to solve it.

As of writing this, there have been 370 versions of Mail Attender (typically a new version a month). Below are some screen shots of different versions of Mail Attender, with the most recent version on top:
