New York City

We visited New York City in April of 2019. I had been to New York for business a few times, but had never had an opportunity to be a tourist. This trip was all about being a tourist. We visited several museums, which worked out well, considering the weather was cold, wet, and windy. Though the true museums (Metropolitan Museum of Art, American Museum of Natural History, and Museum of Modern Art) were interesting, they were not my favorite.

The National September 11 Memorial & Museum was incredible. We paid for a private tour and it was so worth the money ($20/each). It was an hour tour and was so awesome. I highly recommend it. If being there does not affect you emotionally, you have no soul!

The view from the Empire State Building was incredible. But it was such a cold and windy day, we didn’t stay there that long.

The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum was the biggest surprise. It was so fascinating. Again, we paid for a private tour ($15/each), that was so worth it. Hearing the history of this incredible aircraft carrier was amazing. We also saw the Space Shuttle and walked through a nuclear submarine!

Walt Disney World

We were at WDW from Tuesday, Mar. 26, 2019 - Monday, Apr. 1, 2019. This was solely a golf vacation. Our goal was to play 36 holes a day at Lake Buena Vista Golf course. We were able to do that for 5 of the 7 days. The weather impacted us a little for a couple of days, but overall, the weather cooperated. We were paired with some great people and had a chance to see our golf family, the Disney Golf employees who we love.,

Chocolate Chip Cookies

I made some cookies to send to my daughter for her birthday. I really enjoy making these cookies and they taste so good!

Golf and Travel Show 2019

First visit to the Golf and Travel Show and we LOVED it. Stayed for over 3 hours. I wasn’t looking for new golf shoes, but I could not pass up my new Footjoy Hyperflex shoes. Also stopped by the BTS Golf booth and was so impressed by their product and knowledge. I will be signing up for this. Looking forward to how much it will help my game!

Walt Disney World

We were at WDW from Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019 - Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019. Played golf every day even though it was pretty darn cold (in the 40s) Monday and Tuesday. Each day was warmer and we played 36 holes on Friday (in the 70s). We also enjoyed the Festival of the Arts at EPCOT, the Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom, and the Avatar Flight of Passage.

Universal Studios/Walt Disney World

We stayed/went to Universal Studios (Portofino Bay) on Saturday, December 8/9 and then moved to Walt Disney World (Saratoga Springs) on Sunday, December 9 through Saturday, December 15. At Universal Studios, we really enjoyed Harry Potter and Dr. Seuss Landing. At Walt Disney World, we went to Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, and Magic Kingdom. We also went to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Walt Disney World

We were at Walt Disney World from Sunday, November 4 through Thursday, November 8. We stayed at Saratoga Springs, so we could play golf everyday. We also went to the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival a few times. This is one of our favorite events at Walt Disney World. We visited all four parks, especially Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios.

Christmas in the Woods

Every year for two weekends, there is an event called Christmas in the Woods. It is a craft show with a few hundred vendors that is literally held in the woods. We like to go every year. Even if we do not buy any crafts, we just have to buy the freshly made kettle popcorn. It is so awesome!

Walt Disney World

We arrived at Walt Disney World on Wednesday, July 18 and stayed at Saratoga Springs Resort until Sunday, July 22. We went to all four parks, including our first ever visit to Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios. We also played golf every day, with two of the days at Tranquilo at the Four Seasons Resort. We were also the family of the day at Boma, an African buffet at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Front Sidewalk

In June 2018, I decided to redo the front sidewalk. Previously, we tried to promote growth of moss in between the brick pavers. However, the experiment did not work out as expected. So I decided to tear the whole thing up. The most challenging part was breaking up the old footer with a sledgehammer. I am very happy with how well it looks.

Pool Sidewalk

In May of 2018, I decided enough was enough and wanted to have a way of walking to our pool without walking through the grass. So I designed and created a small sidewalk from the driveway to the pool steps.

Philadelphia Flower Show

On March 10, 2018, we went to the Philadelphia Flower Show. It is an annual event at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. It had many vendors and quite a few displays. We spent most of the day there and I just had to buy some bulbs for the back garden. The Wonder Plant bulbs came up and they were incredible.

Walt Disney World

We were at Walt Disney World from Tuesday, February 13 2018 - Monday, February 19, 2018. Our son and his wife joined us. We had a great time and went to all four parks. We stayed at Saratoga Springs and had a two bedroom suite. We went to the EPCOT Festival of the Arts and had dinner at Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We even had some time for golf.
